The balconies of this building were joined to surround the corner where this apartment building is located, giving it the appearance of a bold stack of volumes. The heavy strips that compose them appear to be more imposing as they contrast with the dark color of the other walls, as if floating independently. The height at which it is lowest from street level contributes to the general perception of grandeur. The building’s positioning in the topography, along with its adjacency to a public space, also allows the idea of height and breadth to be felt from the dwellings.
